CARPENTER – Mr. Howard H. Carpenter, aged 99 of Belmont, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010.  Surviving are his wife of 75 years, Clarice; children, David (Betty), Paul (Marge), Gordon (Susan) and Rolen (Betty); thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Helen Pelton, Vera and Inez Carpenter; many nieces and nephews.  Mr. Carpenter owned Comstock Park Lumber Co. for many years and was a member of Comstock Park United Church of Christ.  A Memorial service will be held 12:00 noon Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr., NE., Belmont.  Mr. Carpenter's family will greet relatives and friends two hours prior to the service.
